Chargers

In the Chargers step, you can define the types of chargers to be modeled in your simulation. This step focuses on specifying charger types rather than individual on-site charger instances. Later in the software, you can create charger instances and assign each one to a defined charger type.

A 6MW charger with 80% efficiency.

Chargers are managed using the toolbar located at the top of the page. More information on the functions within the toolbar can be found in the Common User Controls page. Each charger type instance must have the following properties specified:

InputDescription
NameSpecifies the name of the charger type.
Recharge Power (kW)Defines the maximum power output the charger can deliver to the battery.
EfficiencyRepresents how effectively the charger converts input power from the grid into usable battery power. A higher efficiency means less power is lost as heat or in conversion.
Setup Time (s)Time required to connect the charger to the vehicle.
Tear Down Time (s)Time required to disconnect the charger from the vehicle.
