Collate Data
Prior to starting the Orepath Mining Simulator, ensure that all foundational information is collated and easily accessible from the working directory of your Orepath Mining Simulator project.
For this quick start exercise, download the project files from the link below.
tip
When creating a simulation for your own project, ensure that key information is collated to populate the Asset, Setup, Network and Simulation Input tabs.
The data that is required for each tab is as follows:
Asset
- Wireframes for:
- Current Topography
- Pits
- Dumps
- ROM Pads
- Roads
- Mined Out / Closure Topography
- Aerial imagery.
- Site map outlining potential pits, roads and infrastructure.
Setup
- The desired duration for the simulation.
- A list of fields and data to be reported. e.g. tonnes, gold grade and associated units
- A list of material types and parcels for reporting. Material types can be:
- Geological strands
- Ore and Waste material
- Detailed material categories. e.g. HG_IND, HG_INF, MG_IND, MG_INF etc.
- A list of truck & dig unit types used for the operation.
- Truck parameters including number of trucks, vehicle widths, payloads, rimpull curves, braking curves, fuel consumption, fuel capacity and weight distribution.
- Dig unit parameters including number of dig units, loadable trucks, bucket payload, swing times, digging times, fuel capacity and fuel usage rates.
- Lane spacing and dimensions for haul roads, running pavement and road bunds.
- A list and map of sources and destinations to allocate tasks for the simulation.
Optional Setup Parameters
- Crusher locations, hopper capacities and crushing rates.
- Battery specifications & swap times & power ratings for charging stations if electrification is being explored.
- Fuel Bowser flow rates & setup/tear down times.
- Vehicle downtimes if applicable.
Network
- Items imported in the Assets tab.
- Road centrelines for current operation, if available.
- Future road designs, if applicable.
